Michele Benevento was born in Putignano in 1978, but grew up in Gioia del Colle (Ba). He is graduated in History and Criticism of Cinema.
In 2003 he collaborated with Giuseppe Palumbo realizing the backgrounds for some special volumes dedicated to Eva Kant and Ginko, published by Astorina. For Free Books, he drew part of the first issue of the series L'insonne (he also inked the covers up to issue #5, overPalumbo pencils).
In 2006 he worked at the Nick Raider mini-series for IF Edizioni and, for the French market, on two volumes of the series Gemelos published by Bamboo Èditions. Once again for IF Edizioni he made a series of illustrations as appendix to the reprint of Il Comandante Mark.
In November 2007 he completed the drawings for a tarot deck dedicated to the Pirati for Lo Scarabeo, with texts by Bepi Vigna.
In 2008 he published for Soleil on the series Skyland, based on the homonymous animated series. A story short drawn by him and written by Piero Colaprico and Daniele Brolli, appears in the collection Cattivi Soggetti, published by Rizzoli - RCS.
In 2009 he began to work for Sergio Bonelli Editore, making his debut on the first Michele Medda miniseries: Caravan - for which he drew issue #9.
In 2010 he drew the number 142 of Dampyr, written by Claudio Falco and then he was dedicated to the realization of the second project byMichele Medda for Sergio Bonelli Editore: LUKAS, of which he was also the cover artist and the graphic designer. The series made its debut on the newsstands in March 2014. The second season dedicated to the character - LUKAS REBORN - is still being published.

From 2012 to 2015 he taught at the International School of Comics of Reggio Emilia. Since 2011 he is the teacher of a course of Advanced Comics focused on the inking techniques at Bologna PGM.
